I sat by the window and when I looked out...
behold a regal buck was wandering about;
His antlers massive and strong for sure
I wondered why he would stop at my door.
Then my mind, as it usually does,
went spinning in circles, clearing the fuzz.
Why did I not see this before?
The reason why he stopped at my door.
The reason our country is not thought of as poor,
and we drive ourselves everywhere, though gas prices soar...
because God sees us through the bad times we face
in spite of the fact that He's lost His place.
You can't find him in schools, or in government buildings,
we don't want to infringe on anyone's feelings.
But what about God, who has feelings too?
Should we tell Him goodbye, you're fired, you're through?
We don't need someone causing a riot
because they feel that it's being bias...
to keep Your name where it always has been...
what made our country great when we had nothing.
In this ungrateful world where one buck is not enough,
we stuff our pockets and count on luck...
We never say, Thank You God, all that much anymore
we just gripe and complain, give me more, give me more.
If one door shut God promised to open another
so we wouldn't feel hopeless, but it was such a bother
for us to make sure His name we could shout
When someone else said He should go...just get out.
